Run-and-See Tennessee Race Series

The goal of the Run and See Tennessee Race Series is to encourage runners to travel around the region and participate in quality running events while seeing different areas of the region and competing against runners that they may not see at their local running events.

The events that comprise the series will be different lengths from 1 mile to a full marathon.

At the events that comprise the series, runners will be eligible to earn points by placing in the top ten finishers of their age group. The points will be awarded in sixteen different age groups (male and female): 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 & over. These are the age groups that will be recognized by the series regardless of the age groups that may be utilized at a particular race.

The first place finisher in an age group will earn ten points, the second place finisher in an age group will earn nine points, etc with the tenth place finisher in an age group earning one point. Different length events will receive a multiplier to the points earned as follows: 1 mile to 6.2 miles (10K) points earned times one, above 6.2 miles to 13.1 miles (half marathon) points earned times 2, and above 13.1 miles points earned times three. In other words, a first place age group finisher in a 10K would receive ten points, a first place age group finisher in a 15K would receive twenty points, and a first place age group finisher in a marathon would receive thirty points.

The age group for a participant will be established each year by the age recorded at the first series event that they qualify by finishing in the top ten for their age group. This means that participants will accumulate points in only one age group within a particular calendar year.

Participants will accumulate points over a twelve month time span that runs from January 1 until December 31 of a particular year. Participants must finish at least three series events in the current twelve month time span to qualify for prizes. There is no maximum number of events that an individual may use to accumulate points for their series total.

Participants can identify the events participating in the series by visiting the Total Race Solutions (TRS) website at www.totalracesolutions.com and selecting the Events section icon.

TRS will publish the individual points total for each qualifying participant and the complete results for each event that is part of the series at www.totalracesolutions.com. A participant can view their individual race history and their series standing on the TRS website. To view the individual race history page, click Personal Individual Tally. To view the series standings page, click Run-and-See Tennessee Rankings and select a year. If you click a name on this list, you will see their personal history.

Effective January 1 of 2024, the following awards format will take effect.

In January, after the last series event for the preceding year is completed, Total Race Solutions shall hold a drawing to award one first place finisher (m/f) from the sixteen age groups recognized in the series. The winners drawn (m/f) shall receive $500 each. That means that the first place finishers for the year (m/f) have a one in sixteen chance of winning the $500 prize (1 X 16) given the fact that TRS recognizes sixteen age groups in the series. TRS shall also hold a drawing to award one participant (m/f) from the second to tenth place finishers from the sixteen age groups recognized in the series. The winners drawn (m/f) shall receive $250 each. That means that the second to tenth place finishers (m/f) from the series have a one in one hundred forty-four chance of winning the $250 prize (9 X 16) given the fact that TRS recognizes sixteen age groups in the series. Participants must finish at least three series events in the current twelve month time span to qualify for prizes.
